The safest way to do this is with a scan tool, but sometimes just taking out the batteries will do the trick. Turn on the ignition and wait for the Airbag light to start flashing, then earth the "airbag memory clear" pin of the diagnostic connector (4th pin from top left). When the code has cleared you will hear 3 beeps from the airbag monitor (hidden under dash, above fuse panel).
