Certainly not brilliant for "sharp" photography, but allows a little "atmospheric" licence! Undoubtedly the highlight has been the control of a Belgian ringed Reed Warbler during CES #3 although at this point we don't know the story behind this.

The reserve has been closed on and off since then for major water related issues and this opportunity was taken to improve the natural habitat and improve some of the hides, two of which are still to be built.

On the way we were incredibly surprised to see a Long-eared owl cross the road ahead of us and continue east towards the coast. Once at Tophill we put the nets up and waited.
